Kelsey Reder
Administrator
Kelsey is an administrator for Superior Behavioral Services. She has a bachelor's degree in teaching communication arts and literature from the University of Minnesota Duluth. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with a degree from Ball State University. She sees a need in the area for these services and wants to help clients build on their skill levels.
Carrie Wilson
Teacher | Reading
Carrie teaches reading at Superior Learning Academy. She attended the University of Minnesota Duluth, majoring in Elementary Education with an emphasis in English. She has worked in education for over 20 years, 12 of those years in a Special Education setting, and the last 3 being in her current position. She has a passion for working with kids and helping them reach their full potential, both in reading and in life.
Ashley Pehler
Teacher | Social Skills
Ashley teaches social skills. She attended the University of Wisconsin- Superior, majoring in Psychology with a focus on child development. She has received professional training in Social Thinking, Collaborative and Proactive Solutions, Restorative Practices, and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention. Ashley has worked in Special Education for 15 years. She believes kids do well if they can. She is dedicated to meeting students where they are at and teaching them necessary social, emotional, and behavioral skills to help them be successful in school and in life.
Deanna Benjamin
Teacher | Math
Deanna attended University of Wisconsin-Superior where she obtained her bachelors degree in Psychology and Special Education. Deanna has received a certificate in Youth Mental Health First Aid and is certified in Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), and Trauma-Informed Care & Resilience. Deanna is currently finishing her Master’s Degree in Education and Instructional Design. Deanna comes to us with experience in Elementary Education with focus in working with students in the IDS and Autism programming. She has a strong passion with working with youth and education while emphasizing building students education to tailor their needs.
Sheena Halvorson
Teacher | 4K
Sheena is the 4K teacher for Superior Learning Academy and a behavioral technician at Superior Behavioral Services. She completed training from Northwood Technical College in child development and heath, safety and nutrition, along with the Wisconsin Pyramid Model. She has
been working with children for over 7years and and has a passion for helping children learn and grow in a fun, safe and positive environment.
Steve So
Therapist , Teacher
Steve is the Science/Social Studies teacher at Superior Learning Academy as well as the Mental Health Therapist at Superior Behavioral Services. He obtained his Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He has had many years of experience working in outpatient clinics as well as therapy in school settings, and has received training in Theraplay as well as the ADOS-2 in being able to identify children with more targeted needs and support. Steve utilizes an eclectic approach to therapy, believing that it is best to meet clients where they are at with an approach that is tailored to their individual needs to enable them to overcome the difficulties they may be facing to be more successful in their daily lives.
